The film is produced by Local Futures for World Localization Day, June 21, 2022, in celebration of a worldwide movement. Learn more and get involved at www.worldlocalizationday.org.

NB: parking on site is very limited, so please come by alternative means if at all possible.

ABOUT THE FILM: In countless communities on every continent, a quiet revolution is emerging – of people forging a kinder, healthier & more humane world from the bottom up. Tired of the relentless consumer rat-race, people are seeking closer connections to others and a better relationship with nature. Bit by bit, they are transforming food, energy, business, finance, public spaces and politics - removing them from the control of global corporations and returning them to the hands of local communities.

The “Planet Local: A Quiet Revolution” documentary gives voice to a kaleidoscope of people from across the world, who share about why and how to foster ecological economies, thriving communities and healthy local food systems.

YoCo monthly open meeting

This event is run in conjunction with the YoCo monthly open meeting (in person only this month, not online).

Each month, YoCo hosts an open meeting where everyone and anyone involved or interested in YoCo or the York Central development can share what’s going and ask any questions they might have.

We typically discuss updates from YoCo meetings with York Central Partnership, City of York Council, JRF (Joseph Rowntree Foundation) and others, and discuss the various YoCo community projects in the Leeman Road/Holgate area.

We’re also happy to offer space to any other groups working in the Leeman Road/Holgate area want to help shape what will happen on the York Central site.

All very welcome.

ABOUT THE VENUE: Parking on site is very limited so please come by alternative means of transport if at all possible.
