York Central Learning Hub … growing and buying the food for the event

On Monday (18th July) we are running an event in partnership with Choose 2 to explore links between learning, local food and economies.

You can find out more about the event here. All are very welcome indeed.

We know from the weather reports that it will be very hot on Monday but we have decided to go ahead, armed with fans, possble through-drafts, lots of cold water and, cruically, Food Circle Ice Creams.

Today Steve from Choose 2 picked up the food order for next week from the Food Circle market - all from local growers.

Steve and the Choose 2 gang have also planted in the Hull Road Park allottment, about 5m away from the Choose 2 cafe - so you can’t get much more local than that!

At the event we’ll be cooking together, eating together and imagining what we want York Central to be like.

Below some photos to get you in the mood for the workshop on Monday. Hope to see you there!
